Siemens VAI - Human Resource Assessment

Economic researches predict a massive decline in the economic output and many claim this crisis to be the most severe since World War II. One has to acknowledge though, that the preconditions to solve this crisis are totally different to the situation in 1945. Many companies will take it as a chance to restructure their organisation, to implement new technologies, or to gain access into new markets. Insofar the demand for highly qualified employees may rise dramatically within a few years and may be more important than before the cyclical downturn.
Siemens VAI as one of the leading companies in the region of Linz has initiated this project to work out activities to increase the quality of life and work for international employees, to search for instruments for recruiting and employer branding, to evaluate future developments in the field of human resources and to improve services to support new employees and their families from other countries.
The project is coordinated by Siemens VAI together with IVM and Trescon as project partners, the DOM Research Lab, FH Hagenberg and LIMAK as extern service providers and TMG and Borealis as further participators.
On April 17th the project was officially started. Workshops and a symposium were held at the LENTOS museum in Linz. Special guests were Prof. Frithjof Bergmann and Prof. Dieter Gorny who enriched the workshops and were talking at the symposium about "The town of the Creatives" (Prof. Gorny) and "New Work" (Prof. Bergmann).
