Negotiate your flat

Regarding the increasing individualisation of
society and the growing need to self-determine ones surrounding
according to ones interests and preferences today’s process of planning
of housing estates or block of flats conflicts enormously. Whereas a
detached house meets all requirements of the client, a multi-storied
dwelling house just offers a limited choice of different types of
flats. Obviously the conventional way of planning directly conflicts
with the present social tendency to more self-determination and
individual design of ones life.
Proceeding from the missing client-orientation different university research laboratories aimed to develop a web-based software solution, which facilitates in future integrating the client’s ideas to the process of planning a block of flat.
The methodical procedure was inspired by recent developments in the sports-, clothing- and construction-industry, which provide their costumers special online configuration-programmes to design their individual product. These industries created an outstanding platform to communicate with the customers, but the missing link is the collective. The software doesn’t consider the integration of several customers. This gap was to be closed.
Spectrum of capacity the software would include:

These industries created an outstanding platform to communicate with the customers, but the missing link is the collective. The software doesn’t consider the integration of several customers. This gap was to be closed.
Spectrum of capacity the software would include:
1. First of all the constructor defines a basis-model considering all building regulations, financial framework and general aesthetic elements.
2. The next step is to put the basis-model online to make it available for the public.
3. Now interested clients may register and articulate their preferences via the platform. According to the statements the computer will generate the best possible ground plan.
This pilot scheme would not only intensify the cooperation between research institutes an upper-austrian small- and middle-large business, but such a software would also mean a great innovation for the whole branch.
